FINALLY had a decent night on the lanes last night, but I had to throw resin to do it.  266-249-223-738

I've come to the realization that I either have to throw resin in the middle or plastic on the outside to score now....urethane is too weak for the inside shot and too strong to play the twig.  Such is life when your center buys an oiling machine, I guess.  [frown]

Still, very nice bowling!  I have a feeling the urethane will still shine for you as well!

My success on the lanes was short-lived as I shot 596 last night.  First two games I played inside with resin, shot 193-172.  The more I have to swing the ball the more inconsistent I get and throwing resin just exacerbates the problem when the lanes aren't forgiving.  I'm not sure if a milder resin ball would help and I'm certainly not willing to spend the money to find out, lol!

Last three frames of the second game I switched to my original LT-48 that my son encouraged me to bring with me last night.  Playing an inside line I threw three splits in a row. [mad]

Third game I had nothing to lose so I piped my White Dot straight up the twig and managed a 231.  I'm half tempted to hunt down a 15 pound Yellow Dot and just try playing the twig with it from now on.

The more I throw it, the more I like my Hot Cell. Smooth and hits like a truck. Just a thought

1/29: 166-252-171 = 598

1/31: 220-181-217 = 618

2/05: 190-211-222 = 623

Yesterday night: 205-255-237 = 693 -__________________________________________________- Missed chance for 1st 700 series ;_;
1st game was a pink widow and switch to purple urethane on 2nd game. 2nd game almost 278. 3rd game at 10th frame tired for a strike but threw weakly

237-255-189=681 last night throwing...get this...a brand new ~1989 Columbia Gold Dot.

My brother found a 16 pound undrilled Gold Dot and bought it for me for Christmas.  He had no idea what it was (pearl urethane, pancake block).  Finally got it drilled up and damned if it didn't work well last night...played a little bit of a belly out to 7-8 at the arrows and it walked into the pocket pretty as you please.  No overreaction if I tugged it in the oil or sent it out too far into the dry, but it's definitely not a ball that carries corner pins well though.  That's to be expected given what it is...needs an optimum entry angle into the pocket to carry.
