Guess there's no chance of it reopening now, not that there was anyway. Heard Randy Shank looked at it a couple years ago when he sold Sunnybrook, but it was too far gone. Now the city can declare it a hazard and tear it down. How convenient <wink> <wink>.

I'd say arson for sure. Someone probably got paid to start the fire so someone else could collect insurance money on that.

I would venture a guess it was owned by the bank. Not saying they wouldn't do anything fishy. The city though has a way to make things happen when they want a property redeveloped (See Bronco Lanes) so there's that too.

Not sure this was posted here before, but a saw this last year. As you can see the place was run in utter disarray. I mean who leaves money and personal information just laying around? They knew what was coming and had a huge pity party and just left.

Gary, I've seen that before.  Sad how a vibrant place could become that.

Any word on what caused the fire?  I would think it is probably nothing other than arson.

Haven't heard anything yet, but my money is on arson.

I loved bowling there years ago. When Jeff passed from cancer at a really young age it started to go down slowly. Super nice guy. Always asking the bowlers about the shot and any issues they might have and any way they could improve anything. Money management was a big issue from what I've heard. They were busy. No reason to shut down like they did. If they sold for a huge offer I'd totally understand. They had such a beef with DTE that they had a huge portable generator powering the place for two seasons. It was a mess.
