I'm hearing on the radio by some so called experts that this isn't
as bad as the flu in death rates and that's it's mainly a ploy to
stop Trump from getting re-elected. Conspiracy theory nuts will
back this and cause a second wave. Tell Italy it's not as bad as the flu

If the Lions host the NFC Championship Game for the first time ever, and nobody is watching in Ford Field, did it really happen?

All sports for the rest of 2020 and possibly 2021 will likely be TV-only events.  Large crowds can safely assemble only when there is no more risk of coronavirus spreading.  That requires one of two conditions -- either everyone has immunity after recovering from COVID-19 or an effective vaccine has been developed to protect those not yet exposed.

The big question is how long somebody remains immune to Covid-19 once they have the antibodies for it....the time period varies from virus to virus.  I'd hate to think that we'd all have to get booster shots every few months for this damn thing for the rest of our lives.

A wild card in all this is the number of people who are asymptomatic. Small studies are putting it at anywhere from 25 to 50% Combine this with an even marginally effective vacine, and it could be a game changer. Remember, even flu vacine is often only effective enough to reduce symptoms or duration. It is enough to keep flu from becoming a pandemic

The thing with influenza is that it mutates constantly, so every year experts basically use an educated guess as to which strains will be widespead that year and include them in the vaccine.  As such, even if you get vaccinated you may still get the flu if the strain that infected you wasn't in the vaccine.

In Michigan, the governor has stated that last businesses to open will completely be the opposite of the first businesses to open in Georgia, i.e., bowling alleys, hair salons, tattoos, theaters, etc.  I fear it could be quite some time before we see bowling here in MI.

The medical model I recently looked at says Ky shouldn't allow close encounters until at least June 11, a date I hope our governor shoots for.  I didn't vote for him, but I believe his heart is in managing the covid crisis here.

I think he's doing a great job too. I wonder how
Bevin would have handled this? Not as well I think.

I think Georgia gonna be in for a rude awakening

Big mistake if they open the casinos.  It is way too early to tempt people with that.

Are gamblers in their right mind?  Debatable at best.  Kind of like leaving liquor stores open during the covid crisis and then being surprised the alcoholism rate jumps.

It is going to take a long time to return to anything approaching normal. However we may soon be approaching a point where we at least need to start down that road or risk fractures in our society that could be irreparable.
