Be honest, how many voted AGAINST Belmonte instead of voting FOR a bowler?  [wink]

I'll never vote for someone who bowls like a toddler.

I have a question why do they give bonus points in match play?  Belmo only had a 3-5 record but was 1st.  Total pins should not count.  Should be wins over all use pins as a tie breaker.

Another excellent show.  They would be crazy not to bring this back to Detroit again next year.

If I was Buttruff, I would practice 1,000 7 pins in a row.  The guy has missed more 7 pins than anyone I've ever seen on TV, and it costs him titles every time!  You cannot do that against Belmonte.

I think Belmo is good, because the field is weak. There are no one in the class of Anthony, Weber, Roth, Holman, etc.. to challenge him. Such poor shot making, too many splits and opens from the opponents.

Betcha he makes 99 out of 100 of them. It's gotta be a pressure thing. Some people just struggle with it.

That's a great point. There's a lot of really good bowlers out there, just not great. Some will go on a hot streak for a short time, but can't sustain it over a long period of time.

IMO, that makes Belmonte even better.  I think he's in the top 5 of bowlers of all time.  Also, he's also a great ambassador for bowling. It's kind of like Tiger (in his hey day) vs. the field.

2 handed style doesnt look anymire ridiculous than did a guy galloping to the line with an indeterminate amount of steps, or guys cupping their wrists and opening their shoulders playing strike or no count.

They've always given bonus pins in match play. I don't think it's changed, but it used to be 30 pins for a win and 15 each for a tie.

I knew that, just wondered what the thinking was.
