Kulick's win has legs - there was a 2 column story in today's Boston Herald, and they NEVER have bowling stories, they don't even post the scores in the scoreboard section.  The Globe even has a paragraph.  ESPN's and SI's both have links to stories...

Also - she's #8 on Yahoo! Search today...

KK's victory may be the best thing that's happened to the tour, womens AND mens, in quite a long time.

If I recall, she got a lot of press when she made the exempt tour 3 or 4 years ago.  It was big news when Liz Johnson made a TV show.  But Pro Bowling had never seen anything like this.  Back in the days of the LPBT, I used to think the lane conditions were a lot easier than the mens, that no women could ever compete against the men on the pro bowlers tour.  This was back in the 1990s.  For these women to bowl on the same lanes, same tournaments, same conditions, it gives them a lot of creditbility and should (if not in the past, but certainly now), give the ladies a lot of respect in our sport...they (led by Kelly Kulick) have earned it.

She really did earn it, considering that her rev rate was 150 to 200 lower than her opponents.  She had to be more accurate and solid in the pocket than her opponents over the long format and TV show, and she was...I'm watching yesterday, and I was saying "buried" to myself time after time when the ball was halfway down the lane.

had she carried the 7-10, and started with the front 11, things would have really got interesting!

On a side note, I will never get used to the T of C NOT being the final tournament of the year.

Seriously....it's like putting the Super Bowl in the middle of the season. Why on earth did they decide to move the TOC???

Not much different than the old ABC days where the T of C would only mean the end of the Winter Tour, with the Spring/Summer tours right behind it.
