So I went bowling today. Bowled 3 games. I was on lane 4 and some other people were on lane 16. 16 lanes is how many this place has. They will be spacing people every other lane. Not sure how they will handle leagues. But those will go on in september.

What state are you located in?  Did they require bowlers to wear masks?

South Dakota and no. I wore a mask going into the place but when I saw how empty it was I took it off.

Here in the Detroit area, I do not anticipate bowling centers to open back up for quite some time now.

Here in Ky, we are anticipating some relaxation of the social distancing and shut down, but I pray it is not too quickly and cause a problem.

Wow, I think the same thing, but down here if I said that I'd get soundly chastised for being a grumpy old man.

I've already made a lot of people I know with
my views on how this was handled.

99.6% of the world's population is Covid free. Yet, we have to have our lives upended. That's B.S.

It should be up to each individual whether to go socializing or not. My 1st Amendments rights have been severely violated.

Going on vacation next week. Will be stopping in South Dakota so I know where I'll be bowling. Utah, too.

So if you are one of the symptom-less carriers you feel fine about running around spreading the disease?  Please don't pass through Ky.

"Only" around 3 million people have been confirmed to have the virus so far.  Lord only knows how many more people have it and never got tested nor show any symptoms, and I hate to think how many people would have it if we didn't shut things down and socially distance.  The death rate would be astronomical.

Just like it should be up to each individual how fast they drive down the road, or where they can shoot at wildlife, or how many drinks they should have before they get behind the wheel?  Laws exist for the protection and benefit of our entire society...the same goes for those in force due to the virus.

They tried your approach in Sweden, a vastly more socially-minded country than ours...and their death rate is ~10x higher than their neighbors in Norway yet they have a lower population than Norway.  I can't imagine the chaos that kind of approach would have created here in the vastly less socially-aware US.

That's an astonishingly selfish statement...our entire society is threatened by a new and highly contagious virus and you're worried that you can't go out and do whatever the hell you want when you want.  Cry me a river of tears.

40 is pretty good I guess .
Los Angeles -City, has about 7 left
That's 468 sq.miles, pop. 4 million.
Los Angeles County , 4,000 sq. Miles, pop. 10 million has about 24 centers now.
That's not counting the little fun centers like they have in hollywood.
Probably shouldn,t count most of the ones owned by Bowlmor- Bowlero either most of those have no leagues , don't want them , managed by non-bowling industry types and oil the lanes on Tues.
( no joke, I've practiced some times at the Santa Monica center and one time got a lane, went to the car for a ball. I was putting my plastic ball In a carry bag and the maintenence/mechanic / lane man was near and asked what my ball was. I told him plastic because there's no oil on his lanes. He said "what's today Monday ? That's Right, I oil on Tuesdays."
So that leaves 7 or 8 real centers in the county.

When I started bowling there was at least 100 + centers .in the County.
15 just in L.A. Metro / Hollywood area.
Every suburban town had a Bowl, many had 2, .
Some had 3+.
