It was a good show, but my idea, as long as they are going retro, is to make the production itself retro, too.  Every now and then, they have a college basketball game, or football game that is a retro broadcast, with old style graphics, etc.  Set it up like the 70s, where you don't have the staged look, use the old ABC Sports graphics, and give Rob Stone a plad jacket to wear.

I agree. Put the triangle pennants up, don't cover up the real masking units, get Bo Burton back in the booth for this tournament, and get Guppy Troup to be wardrobe consultant.

Okay, maybe not that last one.

Agreed. I also found the little segments where WRW and Belmonte were pimping their sponsor's balls instead of talking about plastic balls like they were supposed to incredibly annoying.

Great show, nail biter. Have to give it up to Brian Z he made clutch shots under alot of pressure. I cant agree with him being the best bowler in NY though, as Randy commented.

He was the best one that day, who beat the best.  And, he gets to go to work on Monday, just like the rest of us.  It was his 15 minutes of fame...and I think each and every one of us would like to be in that spot!  A real dream come true for that gentleman.

I agree that Belmonte got hosed on his shot, but I feel he was rolling way to hard to begin with. And who among us wouldn't want a PBA tour title in our resume?

Dunno if he really got hosed on that shot...looked like it came up high just a little bit.

Kind of agree with this. Wouldn't have surprised me totally if Belmo had left a 7-9 on that shot. Bottom line, I suppose, is that shot certainly strikes most of the time.

Pretty sure the reason they were talking about their sponsor balls is because they were asking players what they would normally use if it wasnt a plastic ball tourney.
