Wouldn't this type of a setup be awesome to have in your home?  Saw this posted on Angela Wilt's facebook...she was recently voted into the Detroit Bowling Hall of Fame!

Might be a pain if you have a out of range if no mechanic
was around.

You'd have to learn the basic's I think to have this...or at least have the nearest bowling alley mechanic on call as a side job!

If you can afford that I'm sure you could afford a mechanic.

I'm sure there are people who could train you to do the basics, like oil the lanes (you'd have to buy a lane machine for that, but if you're putting a pair of lanes in your home, obviously you can afford a lane machine, too) and handle the few really basic mechanics calls, like ball return, 180 stops, out of ranges, and resetting certain spares.  I mean, some of the people who work in the back aren't exactly the second coming of Albert Einstein, so I'm sure it's something that can be learned.  And then you find a local mechanic with a local bowling center who'd be willing to be on call for a per-incident fee, or even on retainer (again, you can probably afford it if you can afford a pair of lanes and a lane machine).  And there, you're good to go.

I've always dreamed of having a pair of lanes in my house.

I always dreamed of hitting Powerball and buying the bowling lanes I bowl at making
many changes I think would improve it.

1 manager is gone the mimute ticket is redeemed

2 desk employees replaced with people that know how many pins are in a rack

3 replace snack bar with employees thatactually wait on people

It's one of George Carlin's classic lines.  He was referring to fast food workers, but it applies equally to folks behind the counter -- any counter -- at a bowling alley.

He said, "If you're working behind a cash register, you're not waiting on me.  I'm waiting on you."

If you look at fusionbowling.com you can see the prices and look at all kinds of pictures of them. I would definitely buy lanes if I won the lottery.
