I am watching the 1991 Hammer Open and Glen Allison is the number three seated bowler.  It took a few frames before I realized he bowls conventional.  I was surprised because I don't think I have ever seen a pro bowler who didn't bowl fingertip.  They mentioned he is a super senior but I wouldn't think that would matter.

I'm not sure if Warren does it all the time, but he did when he made the show in a major a few years back. It was a long tournament format and his hand was killing him. It was the only way he could throw the ball.

I don't think Glenn Allison throwing conventional is a recent thing caused by age...he was doing so back in the 50s and 60s.

I'd say semi-finger tip.

That's the ball he used when he shot 900 back in 1982 or so.  At some point it was in the lobby of the Columbia 300 headquarters (which is when I'm guessing this picture was taken), but don't know if it's still there or not.

Not much bridge there. Think it voided the warranty? [rofl]

Now if Bob Strampe drilled it he'd have a 1/2 bridge. To this day when I see a ball on the the house rack with a monster bridge I say to myself: "Strampe bridge."
