LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Kingston’s Dave Ferraro finished in third place at the Professional Bowlers Association Xtra-Frame Senior U.S. Open, Ferraro’s first event on the senior circuit.

The PBA Hall of Famer was eliminated in the stepladder semifinal match, falling 231-188 to eventual champion Mark Williams of Beaumont, Texas.

Ferraro, who was in third place going into stepladder play, won the opening match, 194-177 over Don Moser from California.

He earned $6,500 for his finish at the event.

Ferraro bowled regularly on the PBA tour, winning 10 tournament titles, and became the 12th bowler in PBA history to earn more than $1,000,000 in his 12-year career.

He retired in 1994 and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1997.

Older brother Steve Ferraro, now in his second year with the senior tour, also competed at the event and placed 17th with a total pinfall of 10,988. He earned $1,750.
