Hi Guys,

Have not posted in quite a while but, had to after bowling at Bowlerama last night. I usually stat my first game as a warm up by throwing my yellow dot bleeder 'Donna' because it's light then throw my storm x Factor or my Pearl Beast, Well I threw the first ball, It never even came into the pocket. so, after I couple of frames. grabbed the x. gets down to the pins, Hard left into the 4,7 spot. Balls came back with a good bit of oil on them so, figured they just did the lanes .then,  I see the lane guy, asked me how it was going told him 'not good' he first told me they had not redone that group of lanes then he remembered, oh. these lanes were done for the P.B.A Regional finals they had Sunday. but, he did not think they were used, So, went over to the pro shop  and talked to the guy who was there .Come to find out, I was bowling on the Viper Pattern. . in 5 Games, Best I bowled was a 133.   moved around, changed speeds as much as I can, but ball either never came in or, hooked too much. So, that showed me, how much more difficult the "Pro" or "Sport" patterns are. I Throw over the second arrow, down and in. Speed ,high 11 low 12 mph. Like I have Said before I am NOWHERE near as good as the bowlers on the forum. and now, have even more respect for the skill of high end league and pro bowlers. And know I would have to move up to more modern equipment.

Wheels, how well do you think you would have done if you knew it was the Viper pattern and came with the right equipment for it?

Tony,

I Really don't know but, sure hope it would not be any worse .Had way too many " Mimi Bobek" frames with what I have, Left so many ugly leaves, just had to laugh and say "Mimi frame" each time it happened 3,6,7,10  2,4,7,10  6,10  only thing I did not leave was the "lilly" guess the bowling gods  felt sorry for me lol. , I leave that enough in Duckpins .

I suspect you would have done much better if you knew what was down.

The most difficult thing on al sport or PBA patterns is understanding that they are different lengths of oil and you must find different angles to play depending on the pattern. I think this is the most difficult thing for bowlers who only see house shots.
