Well, if I'm thinking correctly. Your ball is tracking over the finger holes? I wouldn't worry much about that, because I do the same thing. It has alot to do with your hand position at release, and P.A.P (positive axis point), meaning is it at 90 degrees, 45 degrees, or 0. I roll the ball the same way. I roll the ball with my thumb pointing up, I believe thats a 90 degree, the same as WRW. With a reactive ball, with a lot of flare, I only track over the fingers and thumb once or twice. With a Urethane, Plastic, or Low Flare Reactive ball I track over the fingers and thumb alot, which at times generates a loud thumping while the ball travels down the lane.

Now if you really want to change it from rolling this way, I'd say, cup your wrist a bit more, so that when you release your thumb, should be naturally pointing down or at least to the side, instead up straight up.
You can tell if you did it right with a ball that has a piece of tape or a weight hole at your PAP, because if you roll it and it goes over the fingers the weight hole won't move as much until it moves off its axis, and if you throw it more from the side, the weight hole/peice of tape, will be moving all over the place and probably won't even out until  a sec or two into and out of the ball hitting the breakpoint.

Hopefully, this will help you. Hopefully you understood what I said. lol. But, if it's rolling over the fingers I wouldn't worry unless you use Vacu-grips where the grip is sticking up over the holes in the ball, that would cause the ball to jump dramatically. (trust me, I've done that before)

Will mentioned Walter Ray's style and yeah he's thrown many a ball that rolls over the thumb and finger holes.  Watch any video of him throwing at a spare.  There's no real issue with it.  It can affect overall hook, but that is far more dependent on your release, not the fact the ball hits the holes.

I appreciate the information I never noticed it until it was mentioned I have only been bowling for 5 months and didn't really know if it was a problem. Thanks and any other information would really be helpful.

Hey barracade. Does the ball tend to do this after your 'release' or farther down the lane after it 'flares'. If it's the latter, perhaps a 'weight hole' to cut down the flare potential of the ball might help. If it's doing this just after release, perhaps a slight change of hand position at your release point would get it off of the finger hole. Just a thought
