I don't know if you folks heard this, but I thought I would share it.  I don't watch the current PBA tournaments for a variety of reasons, like I don't have TV feed into my house, and haven't in years, for starters.  Just wondered what you full time bowling fanatics thought of this.

I watched about 3/4's of it and went back and it was gone.  Does this mean that oldbowler is in trouble with the cyber police.  I will donate to pay his bail if needed.

The Youtube video has been terminated due to numerous third party complaints.

Looks like we will not see it............................

All in all a bio pic on this guy would and could be very entertaining if all the truths are told. Pete is one of a kind.

Pete dropped out of a tournament claiming a bad back and then went on to bad mouth the PBA guy, Murphy I think, then complained they put 40 guys on a few lanes and all they get is a few rolls and are moved right into competition while they are still trying to get warmed up.  Then he said he didn't care if they forced him out all together.  Bunch of sour grapes.

If this video is what I think it is, this was PDW shooting his mouth off after withdrawing from the USBC Masters. Jeff Richgels wrote about this on his blog (11thframe.com, which is a pay site). The title of his essay begins "Frustrations of an Aging Superstar...", which gives you an idea of what this is all about.

The "Murphy" mentioned is most likely Chad Murphy, the USBC Executive Director, who is not affiliated with the PBA. The Masters is run by the USBC, similar to how golf's US Open is run by the USGA and not the PGA Tour.

Richgels has criticized Murphy on his blog, and it is one of the articles which is not behind the paywall if anyone wants to check it out. It was from April 6th, which is currently about 37 pages back under "news".

edit-

I don't think Chad Murphy actually has anything to do with running the Masters Tournament, but he is running USBC at the moment and maybe Petey didn't want to leave him out of the rant.

It was the U.S. Open. I don't really have a problem with what he said, but I get what they wanted to do. They wanted minimal play on the pairs that were in use for the tournament. I can respect that because no one wants a loft fest as the lanes break down. What the problem was you then have a log jam on the few practice pairs that they have. I don't know about everyone else, but as I'm getting older it takes longer for me to get warmed up. I don't take a "real" shot in warmups until I've thrown at least 6-8 straight balls down the center of the lane. I'm not saying you have to change the rules for Pete, but proper warm up is essential for any sport at any age. If you don't have enough lanes to accomplish this, then maybe you're using the wrong venue. There's plenty of centers in the United States that can accommodate The Open with ample lanes for warm up.

Think about it this way...Imagine telling a major league he has to share one bullpen mound with the other team before the game. He would have to change his entire routine that he's been doing for 20 years. It would be unheard of.

Thanks for the correction. The Bowling Proprietors Association of America runs the US Open.

Chad Murphy technically is not employed by the BPAA, but he was Director of Youth for that organization for a while. I think that operation eventually got merged into the USBC, and Murphy has moved up from there. It is not always obvious today where the dividing line between the USBC and the BPAA is. The two organizations have shared the same facilities since 2008.

As I got older I wanted less warm up.  4 shot and save the oil.  Once they start breaking down my speed won't let me keep up.  Let them practice for 2 hours then take a 1 hour break for lunch reoil then go without anymore practice.

Saw that video...Pete started off saying, literally "the USBC sucks", then "Chad Murphy sucks", then "the USBC is ruining the sport".  He complained about how practice is done for the tournament, then there was about 20 minutes of uninteresting garbage.  Then at the end he mentioned PB3 won't bowl in the USBC Open anymore because he doesn't like what the USBC has done to the sport, then he reiterated how much the USBC sucks.
