The 35th 900, but in my opinion, there should be 36, we can never forget Glenn Allison's 900 in 1982.

RUTLAND, Vt. (AP) — A Vermont man has become the first in the state to bowl a 900 series.

Jon Wilbur rolled the three consecutive perfect games at the Rutland Bowlerama Monday night. The 36-year-old tells WPTZ-TV he can’t wrap his head around it yet.

Once approved by the United States Bowling Congress, Wilbur’s 900 series would be the 35th in history. The first officially recognized 900 series was done in 1997 by 20-year-old Jeremy Sonnenfeld.

Wilbur has been a bowler for more than 20 years, and he says his father got him into the sport.

He says he’s “slowly starting to wake up to the fact that it happened.”

Should be #33. Mushtare's 2 shouldn't be recognized, but that's an argument for another thread.

No 34th remember there was the 1st one that wasn't approved?  Oops I didn't see where Keith had already mentioned it.

I looked him up and over the years he have many averages in the 240's.  Last year he had 8 300's and 6 800's.  He just needed a few breaks and like many with his skill level it could happen.  With todays balls, oil patterns and lane surfaces there will be more.  Good for Him.

It's been awhile, but I thought he actually submitted 4 900's over a period of time. Two we're approved and two we're thrown out I believe.

That is true I remember reading about that.  I am not sure but both or at least one approved was a pre-bowl or makeup with only one witness.

if memory serves me correctly, he claimed at one point to have shot 5 900's. As if the two that were approved were unbelievable....

From what I recall he submitted the first 900 but it was rejected because the league had not yet officially sanctioned.  The other two were submitted a month or two later.  During one of those the guy he was pre-bowling with claimed to have shot a 300 as well, so 4 of the 6 games were supposedly 300s.

Yeah, right.  😃

Wonder if that is a doubles record score?

If he hadn't tried submitting all those extra 900's he'd have been accepted
as real.....probably,but the rest is history.

I'm really surprised there isn't more 900's shot. As bad as I
am I had 30 of 35 strikes once. I guess nerves plays a big part
of it

This is from my neck of the woods. I have a lot of mutual friends with this guy on Facebook. The video's started infiltrating my timeline. I can't believe how calm this guy was. I'm usually shaking after a 2 bagger. [crazy]
